CAN THE ‘BLAHS’ HIDE BURIED TREASURE?

It’s been a year since we began our journey into Covid 19 Isolation. We’ve made it this far (Praise God), and vaccinations offer hope for future ‘herd’ immunity.

What a joy it will be to meet face-to-face, to give and receive hugs, and enjoy being unguarded with each other again!

I asked a very social friend what she was doing to cope with so much time alone. She said her refuge was to keep busy. So, she has cleaned and organized her closets, installed new flooring for two rooms in her home, moved furniture around, and organized her kitchen (every cupboard and drawer)…

Whew, I had to stop typing for a minute. Just looking at her list made me tired.

There once was a time when talk about ‘zoom’, ‘google hang outs’, or ‘toot suite’ sounded like cartoon language to me. I’m not laughing now. Being able to see their faces as I chat with family and friends is priceless.

In the discomfort and loss of focus of our Covid-related ‘time out’ – we can find hidden benefits. Our homes may be in better shape for all of the restless energy we have spent on them. We may have caught up on our reading. New recipes may spice up our menus, and our tech. skills may have ‘zoomed’ to a higher level – along with our appreciation for each other’s company. I’ll take hidden treasures anywhere I can find them.

I’m wondering what your favorite coping strategies or hidden benefits are … care to share?

Blessings, Love and Laughter to you all.
