Your local Mental Health Services or County Health and Human Service offices may be able to help you find local resources and support. Check with your local churches for support groups or classes that may be available in your area (e.g., ‘Celebrate Recovery’, etc.).

  • Focus on the Family’s Counseling Department can help locate Christian therapists in your area who specialize in treating similar difficulty. They can be reached Monday –- Friday 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Mountain time) at 855-771-HELP (4357). You may need to wait for a callback, but they promise to be in touch as soon as possible.
  • The American Association of Christian Counselors can link you with the Christian Care Network’s directory of Christian mental health professionals, and ministry-based counselors who are credentialed through the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors (BCPPC). Reach them online <www.aacc.net> or by phone (800-526-8673) Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – to 7:00 p.m. (Eastern Time Zone).

  • The Lighthouse Network develops faith-based behavioral health, life-impacting resources.   • The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is a treasury of trustworthy information and referral guidance and you can find them at <www.nami.org>. They can also offer links to Peer Support Groups and Family-to-Family or Peer-to-Peer Educational groups.

  • The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association <samhsa.gov> provides information about treatment facilities and programs in the USA and US Territories for Mental and Substance Abuse Disorders.
